Lost in a slow net: Ukrainian reality

I just recalled the story that happened to me in the end of December:
I thought I was lucky when I found announcement about a really Super Big Christmas Giveaway, - FREE LAPTOP! (See my blog Mini-Billion.blogspot.com of December 11, 2007).

I'll tell you from the beginning, - it wasn't my day. I did not get the free computer! But the most exciting part of that story is the question "WHY?". Why that easy and open for everyone opportunity turned in my case into nothing? I understand, competition is competition. But the main problem was shockingly harsh: I simply could not start the competing!
Because I COULD NOT OPEN THEIR WEBSITE!

The problem was they were using an extremely advanced Flash code for their webpages. I think, creators of that website tested it only on their own (modern) computers. And for them, it worked pretty well. But the website was practically IMPOSSIBLE TO READ from Ukraine!

I sent them email about the problem. And another email. Then left a message on their MyBlogLog account. But they didn't respond..

And then I started thinking, - what would be an IDEAL webpage?
First, it should be small in size: Both in terms of optimized content and HTML coding.

Speaking about the above-mentioned Giveaway, its sponsors seems expected that visitors would read every(!) participating site and choose who's the best through voting.
I don't know about all the sites, but there was at least one participant, whose blog article was several hundreds Kb. I was waiting for the downloading nearly 20 minutes, -- and it appeared only three sentences(!!!) of main content.

Unfortunately, developers of the site preferred not to communicate with me on the matter. Too pity... I was almost ready to provide them with a good solution.

Today I'm starting a much advanced project:
