Just 3 weeks ago Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Tata Motors, unveiled to the world his
"NANO", - the People's Car for only $2,500!
Three days later Nick Reilly, GM' CEO, announced the General Motors would build its own ultra-cheap car. Priced under $4,000.
One Laptop Per Child (
OLPC) supposed to be only $100. Well, the current price is $399. But that's for
two computers ("Give One, Get One" charity programme).
Ideas of the OLPC's founder Nicholas Negroponte appeared so exciting, that inspired designing the whole line of similar products. For example, Intel's "PC ClassMate" for $285.
Is the ultra-cheapeness the newest tendency?
What will be the next? Mobiles for $30, international air tickets for the price of BigMac, ...?
Think bigger:
MINI INTERNET!The project starts today at MINI-NEWS.COM
Hopefully, it will be a world changing concept.
For beginning, let me start from introducing its first key idea,
-
MINIMALISM!The aim of "Nano" is simply to move people from one point to another: It's just four walls, wheels, and an engine.
The aim of OLPC is to provide people with basic applications: A simple text editor, web browser, and Wi-Fi networking.
The aim of MINI WEB is to present main content only.It may sound crazy, but after spending years for software development, - actually, being paid for producing extremely complex code solutions, - having created hundreds websites, and being an author of probably the most advanced JavaScript application in the world, I'm saying, - use the SIMPLEST HTML design only!
Forget about big scripts, slow Java code, let alone flash programming!
Ideally, webpage should consist of a plain TEXT!
(Among other things, this will prevent a predicted Internet crash).
However, the success for the simplest versions of cars and PCs may seriously shake the ground that drives sales in the first world, - OVER-CONSUMPTION!
Earning super money for selling all those over-powered over-priced products, it's dangerous to ask potential buyers whether there is a MINIMAL configuration they really can't live without.
Both Nano and OLPC were designed to help people in poor countries. Nevertheless, they are becoming popular in the developed ones as well!
I'm developing my Mini-News.com concept in Ukraine.
Mini Web for poor?Rather, a space for those people who value their time:
It downloads content FASTER! You can browse more pages. And view them even on mobile.
Do you believe it's for poor only?
